Our Ambulatory Care nurses offer personalized care for our patients before, during and after all types of procedures, specializing in evaluating a patient’s needs for support during all aspects of treatment. Our nurses are a valuable resource when providing information on pre-operative procedures, making a patient feel relaxed and comfortable during a procedure, and ensuring that any and all post-operative needs will be satisfied. Ambulatory Care Services focuses on ways to maximize wellness and prevent recurrent illness, disability and disease, and are an essential component to Riverside Medical Center’s high quality, cost-effective health care.

Cardiac Rehabilitation
The high quality Cardiac Rehabilitation program at Riverside Medical Center exists to help patients recover quickly, and improve overall physical and mental functioning, through a medically supervised effort. Our goal is to provide a safe, friendly and supervised exercise and education program, while reducing the risk of future cardiac events, or preventing a present heart condition from further decline. We’ll counsel you toward an appropriate exercise program and help you manage risk factors, which will enable you to make decisions toward a healthier lifestyle. Each Rehabilitation program is tailored to the individual patient depending upon specific needs.

Cardiopulmonary Services
Cardiopulmonary Services at Riverside Medical Center combines the specialties of respiratory therapy, cardiac diagnostics and cardiac rehabilitation — and provides diagnostic testing and therapeutic services to address diseases and abnormalities of the heart and lungs. Our expert staff is committed to providing the finest care and treatment, including: electrocardiograms, cardiac stress tests, nuclear imaging stress tests, pulmonary function tests, Holter monitoring and scanning, pulse oximetry, event recorders/memory loops, methacholine challenge tests, MDI instruction, breathing exercises, asthma education, bronchodilator therapy, mechanical ventilation and airway management.

Occupational Health Services
The goal of Riverside Medical Center Occupational Health Services is to serve both employers and employees by creating opportunities for a healthy workforce. Together with employers, employees and other health professionals, we work to coordinate and maintain the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being of personnel by preventing illness and injury, and controlling risk. Our efforts heighten awareness of preventive health measures and promote safety in the workplace through the delivery of a comprehensive health program. Working with each employer, we customize an Occupational Health Program that can include: CPR training, first aid instruction, nutrition, ergonomics, stress reduction, carpel tunnel syndrome, eldercare, balancing family and career, and other topics.

Rehabilitation Services
Our Rehabilitation Services department provides patients who have suffered illness or injury with specialized rehabilitative therapy to help them regain function and return to everyday life. Each program is individualized to specific needs and focuses not only on a patient’s injury or illness, but on complete recovery of the whole person — body, mind and spirit. Each therapy program is based on a thorough initial evaluation and periodic re-evaluation, from which our team of specialists coordinate diagnostic testing, and prescription of treatments and therapeutic devices for each patient.
